What we collect, and when

Nothing at all until you send us something. Three things on this site ask for your details, and each says what it is for at the point you fill it in:

• Asking us a question. Your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, what you wrote, and any floors you had picked out.
• Reserving samples to collect. The same, plus which samples and when you would like to come in.
• Asking us to call about a measure. Your name and phone number, and anything else you choose to add. An email address here is optional.

We keep those so we can reply and so we remember the conversation when you come in. They are not used for marketing, and we do not send newsletters.

The floors you save

The sample board — the floors you tick as you browse — is kept in your own browser, not on our system. Clearing your browser data clears it. It only reaches us if you send it with an enquiry or a sample request.

Measuring how the site is used

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful. It starts in a mode that sets no advertising cookies and does not identify you, and it stays that way unless you agree otherwise. Advertising features are switched off, and the data is deleted after fourteen months.

We also use Vercel’s own analytics to watch how quickly pages load. It records no cookies and nothing that identifies a person.

The forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a bot. It sets no tracking cookie and follows you nowhere.

Where it is kept

Enquiries and sample requests are stored in a database hosted in Canada, and email notifications to the shop are sent through Resend. Only the shop can read them. We keep them while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you come back to it.

Your say in it

Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless we are required to keep it — for a job we have actually done, for example. Either way, write to info@josephflooring.ca or call 226-383-4384.

Children

This site is for people arranging work on a home. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date below changes too.
